Crystal Palace on Sunday, December 13, denied Tottenham Hotspur a chance to go three points clear at the top after rallying back to hold Jose Mourinho’s men to a 1-1 draw.

The match saw Jose Mourinho drop Gareth Bale from the squad, with the Welshman missing the trip with illness.

However, his star forwards Kane and Heung-Min Son did step up, with the pair once again combining perfectly to steer Spurs to victory.

Wilfried Zaha had a chance to put Palace ahead six minutes later after he was set up by Christian Benteke but had his powerful shot saved by Hugo Lloris.

Kane went on to score the opener of the match in the 23rd minute after he wrongfooted Vicente Guaita from 30 yards.

The second half of the match had the hosts start impressively, with Zaha going close as they dominated the opening exchanges.

Schlupp had a great chance to equalise in the 69th minute after Milivojevic floated a free-kick to the far post, but the Ghanaian volleyed wide.

He, however, did score the leveller nine minutes to time, ramming the ball over the line from four yards to make it 1-1.

Efforts by Spurs to restore their lead nearly paid off in the dying minutes of the clash as Serge Aurier went close only to be denied by Guaita.

They, however, could drop to second should Liverpool get a favourable result over Fulham in their own fixture later on Sunday, December 13.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea legend Petr Cech might feature in his first competitive game for the club since he hanged his gloves in the summer of 2019.

The 38-year-old played his last game for Arsenal when they suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Blues in the Europa League final.

He then returned to Stamford Bridge in an official capacity after being hired as their technical and performance director.
