Ekong proud of Watford’s three successive league victory

Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong was pleased to help Watford to their third away win of the season on Friday.

The Nigerian defender saw action for 90 minutes as Watford defeated Stoke City 2 – 1 at the Bet 365 to make it the third win in a week.

Watford captain Troy Deeney scored the opener from the penalty spot four minutes after an hour mark, before Ismaila Sarr asses the second in the 68th minutes.

In his reaction after the game, Ekong said he’s proud of himself and his teammates for grinding out such an important win.

“Can you do it on a cold night in Stoke? Massive 3 points to make it 3/3 wins this week. Proud of the team!”. He said.

The former Udinese also dedicated the victory to his aunty Fatma who recently passed away.

“More importantly, wish I could have got a goal to celebrate your life.”

“Either way I know you will be looking down and supporting as always, haven’t stopped thinking about you and the rest of the family this emotional week.”

“Rest in Paradise auntie Fatma” he said in a social media post.

Ekong and his teammates will be back in action on Tuesday, January 26, when they travel to The Den to face Millwall at 7 pm.
