The Lagos state House of Assembly has suspended the chairman of Ifako/Ijaiye, Apostle Toba Oke and three other top officials in the local government.
Legit.ng gathers that Oke was suspended following a petition filed against him by the wards councillors who accused him of misappropriation of N350 million which was meant to fund projects in his local government.
Oke was subsequently invited by the state assembly but repeatedly declined the lawmakers’ invitation.
Akambi Usman Hamzat who is the vice chairman of Ifako/Ijaiye LGA has been asked to take over the governance of the local government.
In a related development, a Lagos high court has fixed Thursday, January 16, 2020, for the hearing of the former governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s suit against the state assembly.
According to a statement made available to Legit.ng, the court fixed the date for the hearing on Wednesday, November 20.
Recall that Ambode is challenging his probe by the lawmakers over the alleged illegal purchase of 820 buses for public transportation.
