Voight says Nigeria should work on grooming its own basketball players

Vice President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation Babatunde Ogunade has stated that the task before the men and women basketball team of Nigeria is a tough one after both national teams were drawn into their respective groups on Tuesday in Switzerland for this year’s Basketball event of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Ogunade speaking in a chat with brila.net describe the pairings as group of death pairings where the women basketball National team of Nigeria will face host nation Japan, France and world champion USA and the Men drawn against Australia as well as two teams expected from the highly rated world Olympic qualifying Tournament.

“All the teams that are playing in the OQT are in the group of death. The Olympics is not an inter house sports events, the very best in the world come out to play in the Olympics. So for that simple reason it’s going to be a tough fight, it’s going to be a tough job and we are ready. We don’t expect any game to be easy. That’s a group of death.”
